The first records of prayer was around 5000 years ago. It has different meanings, at different times and in different cultures. Prior to organized religion, people prayed in oak groves, caves or sites of pure waters. Often temples and churches were built on those sites. Whatever different people call it, prayer is a vehicle the people use to connect with a universal wisdom, a wise guiding presence.
